The pool gate has been repaired for now and the pool is open again. Please try not to push the gate open to it's extreme limits as this puts too much stress on the automatic closer and could cause it to break again. We are looking for a better solution.

We are experiencing a loss of pressure in the irrigation system. The appropriate calls have been made and we will get the problem fixed as soon as possible. I will update this post when we know more.

Update - May 20: We are still having problems with the main filter in the pumps getting clogged. It is supposed to be self-cleaning, but the pressure differential switch that is supposed to trigger a cleaning cycle has gone bad. A new switch has been ordered, but it will be a day or two before it gets here. In the mean time we'll try to watch it and trigger a cleaning cycle manually when necessary. However we may continue to experience periods of low pressure when the filter clogs again.

Update - May 28: The new part has been installed and we seem to be running OK. Please report any problems with irrigation water pressure to MGM.

Even though the weather is currently too cold to think about summer, the pool season is quickly approaching. We are planning on opening the pool on May 22. Registration will be Saturday, May 16 between 9:00AM and 12:00PM and again on Thursday, May 21 between 12:00PM and 3:00PM. Two years ago we installed a new access control system on the pool gate. This system allows the use of either a key card or an access code in order to enter the pool area. For the last two years we have used the access code system. Unfortunately there have been problems with codes being passed around to people who should not have access to the pool, so beginning with the 2009 pool season we will be switching to the key card system.

On Sunday it was reported that we had lost pressure in the irrigation system. On investigation it was found that the well that our pumps draw from was almost dry. It turns out that the nozzles that clean the filter outside of the pumphouse where clogged. The pump company cleared the nozzles and the pumps are back on.
